I just downloaded the latest auto express and there's an article stating the Evoque will get a world's first ZF 9 speed auto in the refresh, poss as soon as 2014. This should bring a 16% increase in fuel efficiency and also drop the 0-60 time from 8.5 sec to closer to 7 sec(page12 if anyone can scan it).
It also says the convertible will join the line up, as well as a stretched version to sit between the Evoque and RRS and also a smaller version to compete with the likes of the Nissan Juke!
I also read that LR will look different in five years time, there is a lot of new models in the pipeline as well as new versions of existing models. Their new philosophy is luxury, leisure and dual purpose, also they have went back to the drawing board on the Defenders replacement, they reckon it will be 2017 before we see a new Defender.
Craig all these models were forecast last year in the rest of the motoring press. Suggest you check the date of the copy of Auto-Express that you have got. The only new bit of news is the 9 speed gearbox. Will be interesting to see what it's top gear is like as the new L405 FFRR's 8th gear pulls 70mph at 1500revs and 2000 revs = 95mph. I predict a lot a speeding fines being earned!
Interesting article

I have scanned the document and just working out how to add it to this post

Will keep trying, apologies I have a dinosaur brain
You probably won't be able to Westy as the file size is too large. For the Top Gear Magazine item asked folks to PM me with an email address and I sent it out that way - only 4 people asked for a copy!
Praise be to the iPad and print screen

Please see the article link as promised for the upcoming Evoque updates

Hope you all can read it, if you get chance pick up todays copy as there is a four page write up starting with the new Range Rover, through to their strategy for the future.
Read. Smile A nine speed box in 2014 is a good enough reason for me to hold on to my 3 month old RRE until it comes available.

I can see that LR need to exploit the market and the success of the Evoque as much as they can, but I do hope that the Evoque doesn't become the new Mini; a real eye-turner at launch but now everywhere you look and being milked to death by BMW with a new variant coming out every other month (or so it seems).

Hi Westy, Can I ask how you managed to scan/copy the article from your iPad to photobucket? I've got the mag via Zinio but there's no option to copy, so I can never send an article to a friend at all.
This is going to sound very complicated but it isn't. I have the paper auto express on subscription, so it comes to me every wednesday before 12, I note that the shops can have a delay of 1-2 days after.

(for our European friends this is the sister magazine to auto bild)

I scanned the page onto my home computer and printer and then emailed it to my iPad, I then opened the attachment and the iPad allows you to save the attachment as an image in my photos. I then simply uploaded the photo of the article into photo bucket and attached it our post.

A quicker way would have been to simply use the camera on the iPad, take a steady photo of the page and then add it to photo bucket.

If you subscribe electronically to auto express a simple print screen is all you would need! They have an app and you can receive electronically, but I still prefer to have the paper coopy, not sure about copyright though, perhaps one of our members can advise?
