I have done the first 400 miles of mixed driving , it nearly cleared out its fuel tank .

38 mpg is what the computer says, is this normal ??? For an sd4

What miles does it loosen up ?
Check the Fuelly website and download the calculator and links to there that a few if us have. You are doing quite well getting that on such a low miles car
38! That's good
I've done 3k and am getting about 37 ... and I don't really expect it to get much better than that.
38 is the best I've achieved!!
28 on the first tank, currently sitting at 32 Sad
38mpg is very good! Normally mine is between 30mpg and 34mpg from mixed driving. However, I'm currently on 26mpg after just driving locally on my current tank - hills, towns and country roads.
48.9 is the best I've had, it's sitting at 33.7 at the moment, short journeys though.
Done just over 1k and getting between 39 and 40.
So i guess the 49 mpg in the manual is pure fantasy !

I will fit a tuning box soon to see if it helps
How many seperate mpg questions do wee need?

We all know its crap, now can we move on?
