Anyone know if LR provide a hire car/ recovery service if the Evoque breaks down when you buy new..?
Yes, if you call out LRA in the first 3 years you should also be offered an Enterprise rental car if the car has to be recovered to a dealership. You will not get a free car if you take the car to a dealership for repair or servicing. Dealers have their own fleet of loaners but it is entirely up to them to offer you one if your car is in for servicing - some will charge you, some offer them for free but you have to insure it and prove that you have cover. My local dealer now will not give me a loaner for free at service time because I don't buy my cars from them any longer. Also if you get recovered to a dealership then Enterprise is supposed to provide you with an equivalent model Land Rover or the next up the range, but many Enterprise outlets don't have that many Land Rovers on their inventory. In the "old" days when LRA was provided by Mondial Assist the service was superb, LRA is now operated by The AA for Land Rover and they do it on a shoestring, without specialist marque trained technicains like they did with Mondial. With Mondial LR provided the techs with special liveried Disco3's and they could carry out much more complex repairs at the roadside than the AA guys do. One thing you must make absolutely sure of if your RRE has to be recovered from a roadside breakdown is that it is put on a flat bed truck, it must NEVER be towed otherwise you will suffer terminal damage to the transmission. For the 1st 3 years of your car's life it has full Land Rover Assist cover, including "home start" type service, roadside service AND off-road recovery, however how The AA will eve do this with a 2WD VW Transporter/Transit/Bedford van I don't know - at least you knew with Modial that the techie could actually get to where your car was stranded in his Disco3!
Great-thanks !
