Hi There,

So we have had a 64 plate 2.2D SD4 for a number of years and a few times a year we are pulling out of a junction, or a roundabout, and we have virtually no power for about 3-4 seconds, then bang, the turbo kicks in and we are away.

it happens totally randomly, but the other day my wife said it happened 4 times in one trip, and then is absolutely fine, no issue. No dashboard warning light ever lights when it is doing this, or when we start or stop the car.

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer I seem to think it could be the turbo controller/actuator/wastegate issue, but looking through some of the posts on this site seems to be reasonably common, but no real fix?

i have a basic OBD fault code scanner which I connected last night, with no stored or live codes on the ECU.

seen the throttle reset instructions on here, but not carried this out, but can anyone assist me me please with a workable theory?

2.2 SD4 Diesel - 62k - Manual.
No big help, but I have the same.
My TD4 manual showing 215000 km had this from day one. LR never found why or what is going on.

It's unpredictable, happens sometimes twice a day, sometimes not for 2 months.

Yes me too, well thanks for the response, judging by the almost zero respones i have received, we are certainly in a minority here.

just returned from holiday were we have done 1000miles and it ony happened once (very minimally) then is fine, no annunciated ECU error light

thnks for the reponse.
