RE: lowering and wheelspacers ?

as you can see on de already tuned evo from H&R the looks are much more ........!

on my former car (mini countryman) i did the same
the "looks" were much beter
and even the handling was much better/harder/sportier to drive.

But on the evoque ?

RE: lowering and wheelspacers ?

I can understand lowering it and may do this myself, but not sure why there is a need for spacers, spacers are only if you have a wheel with an incorrect offset, or you are trying to push the wheel level with the arch. Since this is already the case, and the reason for the additional arch trim, i don't see much point.

RE: lowering and wheelspacers ?

1) Wheel spacers put additional load on the wheel bearings/stub axles

2) They are not Land Rover approved accessories so any warranty issues in that area of the vehicle and you are likely to be on your own

3) Most insurance companies are looking for a reason not to pay out in the event of a claim - the installation of such items would provide a perfect excuse to procrastinate and not pay up

Your call.

We are in the modification section of the forum!

....but

If you are so concerned about the look of the wheel in the arch why have you ordered 18" wheels? Surely lowering and spacing 18" rims is not going to achieve the look you desire? If you are changing to alternative wheels on delivery then you need to choose a set before anyone can really give you an opinion.

RE: lowering and wheelspacers ?

Please don't take this as a personal insult but threads about lowering Land/Range Rover products confirm all of my prejudices about the new breed of customer being attracted by the Evoque.

And no one ever modified a FFRR?
Bigdave Jos's Sig states he plans to add his own wheels, hence no wheel upgrade
