Xenons - Colour

Hey guys!

So very happy with the evoque - picked it up on Monday and yet to post pictures and give my views on the car - will do over the weekend.

I have a few questions though, has anyone changed the bulb of the Xenons? i.e. to make it into a slightly different colour?

My question is, I love the Xenons etc, however I would like to make it a bit more "blue" I guess. It seems a bit of a whiteish/yellow (or... off-white) colour at the moment. How do I do that? What size/specification/etc should I be looking for if I want to change?

Just got a new C-Class a few months ago as well and the lights definitely seem a bit more whiter/whiteish blue.

Any recommendations or has anyone changed them for that matter? Am I the only one who thinks they aren't white enough?

Or maybe its the windscreen making it look different.....

Thoughts?

RE: Xenons - Colour

it could be just the color temp of the bulb itself, (factory is around 4300K?). a higher temp, 8000K+ would definitely make it it look more blue, but would reduce some visibility.

D3S Bulb-6000K
You can go with 8000k for more "blue" effect, but your will lost visibility. I think 6000k is the best.

D2S for your C-Class.

RE: Xenons - Colour

I think the factory standard are 4300K.

Yes I thought 6000K would be the best option - definitely want to do that.

I didn't want to go too blue cause then it may just look fake but I guess 6000K is optimal now. Need to look into it now a bit more.

6000k for sure. I changed all my cars to 6000k since my very first car.
Tried 8000k few times, but stay with 6000k for now.
I got 6600 D2S bulb on my CLS which is my fav now, but can't find a 6600k for D3S

RE: Xenons - Colour

I rather prefer yellow as most of my driving is either at night or in conditions like fog, snow, where more visibility is needed. yellow works great - just brightens up the path.

Black/Black Dynamic (with missing dynamic button), 4dr and a tailgate, stadium seats with butt warmer, extra large moon roof for kids clustrophobia, velcro surface card board floor mats, factory installed humming accessory and the famous "Wind noise-rattle package".

RE: Xenons - Colour

does 6000K reduce the amount of light emitted significantly?

or is it just about the same? I know 8000K reduces the amount of light emitted by quite a bit and its too blue for me as well. was driving at night yesterday and just wasn't happy with the yellowness of it... seemed a bit too halogen-ish for me compared to the C-Class for some reason.

Did you remove the whole headlamp unit to up-grade D3S bulbs to 6000k? or was there enough space in the engine bay? Confused
