I wish I knew!

Have not heard a logical explanation other than JLR wanting an even bigger profit margin on the car.

It's the same with the coupe version of any car - prettier body + less practicality = more expensive!
A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

The 5 doors got nothing on the coupe in the looks department - FACT. I'd rather have a pure coupe than a 5 door dynamic any day!

I will admit Im only getting a 5 door because its a little cheaper, the evoque was already at the top of my realistic car budjet so saving that £1000 was an easy choice. Im sure the little bit extra practicality will be useful.

I'm starting to think the same myself..... £500 for contrast roof and £500 in my pocket..... On order: Dynamic SD4 Manual Coupe, Orkney Grey, Black Roof, Privacy Glass, Vortex Int, Ebony Headlining.

 Delivery: Was 25/11/11, Currently 28/12/11..............

M30, IMHO having the Panoramic roof and the Contrast roof is throwing away money for the sake of a couple of inches width of black paint round the roof edges! Mind you if I had specced Firenze Red I would have gone for a White contrast roof and the panoramic and then looked for a set of white finished alloys....................
