[VIDEO] Modded Evoque

Not exactly sure, but I think this is a de-catted (or some form of exhaust mod) done to the Evoque.

No, the cat is still on. The owner only wants a more sporty sound.

So will I when I hopefully get my Si4 but the sound of that exhaust doesn't suit the car at all, sounds like my 1.4 MG ZR!!
What the Si4 really wants is an exhaust sound of a V6 or as close to as as possible.

Valeter...i share the same thoughts exactly. Needs more bassier tone to the exhaust! Milltek made one mentioned in one of the threads, but we have yet to listen to their exhaust note. Wonder if they can make it burble and pop like in the Mini?

That's one thing that I'm going to miss from my MG ZT 190.

I had the X-Power exhaust on my ZTT190SE & also on my ZT260SE-V8. Both awsome especially the V8.

That was one of the good things with MG-Rover, they really knew how to make the cars sound & drive well.

I imagine that Akrapovic and Milltek are more likely to create a more deeper sounding exhaust. Sounds a bit girly the one above.

I'm hoping Akrapovic develop one - they have a history of some absolutely brilliant exhaust systems - and no doubt with the price you pay for them. I'm sure they will eventually given the amount of attention the car has been getting - they might as well cash in on the evoque as well!

Turbocharged engines sound different to normally aspirated engines. At the end of the power stroke when the exhaust valves open, the residual energy in the cylinder suddenly being vented to atmospheric pressure is what makes exhausts pop and needs quelling with a silencer.

With a turbocharged engine, that energy is used to drive the turbine which takes energy out of the gas and leads to a more even delivery of exhaust products to the exhaust system and a less colourful exhaust sound.

It's highly unlikely we will ever see an Evoque which is not turbocharged because turbocharging adds to th volumetric efficiency and power to weight ratio of the engine and lowers emissions compared to a N/A engine of the same power.
