RE: USB

Mine worked first time yesterday. But then wouldn't work this morning (left in overnight). Removed and was out of the car for a few hours - reinserted and has worked without probs so far for rest of day. Will check in morning again and let u know.

Try wiggling the stick in the connector while playing see if it disconnects if it does it's poor connection, it maybe a bit of dirt in the socket or (more likely) a bad connection in the stick itself, so worth trying another stick, they are quite fragile and usually poorly soldered in China so can break internally easily with a bit of side load.

Never had a problem with the usb just plays, was using a stick, now have a Freecom HDD 500GB... and works perfectly. Thumbs Up

RE: USB

just fits in the compartment nicely, it has a short flexible lead that just reaches the socket, might try to get a short usb extension to ease the fitting so it can drop better into the bottom of the compartment as it is a bit awkward.

RE: USB

Hi Phil what do you have on the disk just music or video as well? How many?

Just asking as I seem to recall a post that said there was a delay whilst reading all the available tracks from his hard disk but his usb flash drive worked fine.

That's kind of put me off getting a usb hard disk to use in the car at the moment.

RE: USB

Even my 16GB stick takes about 15-20 seconds to be initially read/connect so I dread to think how long on a 500GB+!

Also, does anyone know how to change the default folder list view when the Evoque shows them as they aren't in alpha!?

RE: USB

Currently only have 15 albums on it at present, so havent exactly stressed the 500GB yet and obviously have not noticed any delay as yet, Will be adding more this weekend. So will let you know how I get on. I'll keep an eye on folder order and see if I can work out what it uses or ways of sorting them.

Once I've sorted the Music, then I'll get onto Video, as no idea how to Rip a DVD yet so been watching threads, I use Handbrake for my Camera so may try with that to start with.
