Tyre Rotation

For all previous cars I have owned I have always rotated the wheels and tyres every 6 months or so to try to even out the wear as the driven wheels always wear quicker and also the outer edges normally wear faster.
Checked out the evoque today and all tyres have worn evenly and uniformly across the tread width so doesn't seem to be a problem with the evoque.
Is everybody having the same luck or is mine still too new/low mileage to need this doing?

My details are-SD4 coupe,6500 miles,6.5mm remaining tread front and rear with even wear,20 inch continentals.

Took mine off to swap to summer set and didnt look closely but wear looked even across all 4. Might measure tomorrow to see.

I still await my first evoque, [yes, twice delivery dates have been pushed back!]...... but wonder if Evoque tyres are directional? ......which means that tyre rotation becomes redundant/impossible. I am moving to Land~Rover from Mercedes SLKs which have directional tyres AND larger rear tyre sizes. Will be interested to hear what colleagues advise in this forum.

Don't four wheel drive cars wear their tyres more evenly than two?

Mine seem to rotate every time I drive the car!

Maybe, but the Evoque sends 95% of the power to the rear wheels in normal driving, so it's effectively a rear-wheel drive car from a tyre wear perspective.

Don't think they are directional (continentals) not noticed any arrows but not really paid attention.
I have had other 4x4's which suffered uneven tyre wear especially the outer edges but no evidence of it yet,my last car (bmw 123d coupe) also had different sized rears so unable to rotate on that also.
Only difficulty I can see is I have no spare so probably need another jack or axle stands to carry it out if necessary.

I normally just swap front to back,and keep them on the same side. I do the swap after about 15-20,000kms,but depending on the wear status of the front.... this system always worked well for me in the past.

I thinks that's meant to say 95% to the Front wheels in normal, but can send up to 95% to the rear wheels depending upon traction conditions.

The Evoque is nominally front wheel drive under normal traction conditions.

Sorry, you are of course correct - I always get left and right mixed up, and now front and rear! (Incidentally, I believe the maximum redistribution is 50/50 front and rear, the Haldex can't send more than 50% to the rear).

The XWD version can. (granted, thats not fitted to the Evoque though!)
