RE: Fitting aluminium paddle shifters

When I tested the 9-speed auto this week I had no trouble keeping track of what gear I was in. As you say, big number in the driver display makes it very easy to know what gear you're in.

True, and I guess after a while intuition kicks in, but they also say the shifts are imperceptible, so just wonder how much your eyes need to feed the brain as opposed to the sound and feeling telling you. Sometimes when you're hitting that corner just need to flow through it. Exciting driving ahead indeed!

For spirited driving is the sweet spot around 4th and 5th or was the dealer keeping too close an eye?!

I really only used the paddles to test how they worked. Useful for changing down early into a roundabout for example. And no, the dealer wasn't with us in the car, so I was able to fully test the performance through the gears.

Cool. Now I just need to work on justifying the price of aluminium replacements.

I found this on the Jaguar XF forums http://www.jaginfo.org/showthread.php?41...e-Shifters
this link is to an eBay seller and has the part numbers on it http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-OEM-Acces...1027838525 and the price..............

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
