Standard headlamps on a Pure

I have read comments on this and other forums about xenon headlamps and how good they are, I have not specced them on my build,so to any Pure owners are the standard headlamps so bad ?

Do you regret not speccing xenons.

RE: Standard headlamps on a Pure

you have read how good the xenons are, not how bad the halogens are.
the halogens are not bad, but the xenons are 'worth it'.

So don't think you're going to be driving the roads like a mole holding a candle!

Ordered: Fuji Dynamic Lux Coupe / style 7 wheels / Privacy glass / adaptive xenons / something else which I've forgotton.
Should be end of April (was March, then April, then end of May/June).

I've had both and found the halogens to be ok. The main reason I specced the xenons on my second Pure was for the signature LEDs but I have noticed the xenons are quite a lot brighter than the halogens too.

Personally I don't think they are worth £815, the halogens aren't that bad, yes I would like signature lighting but not enough to pay £815.

RE: Standard headlamps on a Pure

I've spec'd them on my Pure but only because I could without needing to justify beyond my own desire (and I still nearly talked myself out of it).
I'm sure the Halogens will be fine and regarding cosmetic appearance its hard to tell the difference unless they are on.

My current car (while waiting for my Evoque) has Halogens and what can you say? tried and tested over many years...very very effective in their own right.

RE: Standard headlamps on a Pure

I have the standard halogens , I could not order the xenon a as they were not available at the time.

The halogens look nice when not on, the led side light is bright.

The yellow light from the dip beam is not good, you need to have the front fogs on to light up the road. I have replaced the standard bulbs and this has done the trick.

For £50 you can do a hid conversion to solve the problem.

Or just spend £20 and get some replacement bulbs

RE: Standard headlamps on a Pure

I travel 40 miles per day and in the winter period on dark country roads I find xenons on my Evoque much better than the halogens on my Freelander. If I lived and mainly travelled in town then halogens would be fine. Cosmetically I don't think the halogens look too bad on an Evoque.

Arrived 16 December 2011: Prestige SD4 auto 5dr in OG with Adaptive Dynamics, Adaptive Xenons, Surround Cameras, Auto Dimming Rearview, Grey Oak Wood, Spare Wheel and Powered Tailgate.

Joining 2010 Freelander XS Td4e in Stornoway Grey (we like Grey!)

RE: Standard headlamps on a Pure

I found my xenons were set just a bit low like where I wanted to look on a dark road was just beyond the cut off point of the beam pattern.A couple of turns on the adjusting screw made a massive difference and now they are spot on,anybody else find this is the case?
Nobody is flashing me so they must be fine, wonder if they were set a bit low at the factory?or possibly because there is nobody ever in the back and boot is always empty.

My order- fuji white sd4 manual coupe,tech pack,xenons,style 6 20's,pano roof,privacy,front fogs,rear camera,folding mirrors,ebony int/ivory headliner,dec delivery.(still waiting!) Collected 14/01/2012
NOW SOLD as of 26/07/14 Very Happy
Now driving Audi SQ5, everything the Evoque should of been.
