RE: Spare wheel

Obviously I don't condone this and safety is always paramount....

but 'a friend' carries a few crosshead screws and a philips screwdriver just incase he gets a puncture. Apparently screws inserted into the hole sometimes will hold for a few miles to get you to the garage without having to use the gunk and should allow for the puncture to still be fixed. Obviously you do need to be able to identify where the original hole is.

RE: Spare wheel

So am I right in saying that if you opt for the spare wheel you don't have any extra storage below the boot cover?

I've seen a picture of the extra storage you get when you don't have the spare wheel which could be handy but the more I read this thread the more sense it seems to add the spare wheel.

RE: Spare wheel

That's what's so good about this forum, sharing our experiences, I was going to leave out the spare wheel, not now it's being added to my order.

RE: Spare wheel

I should have put the spare wheel on my order............... like others have said it's all seperate......... wheel, tyre, jack, spanner....... around £300+. I have only had one flat tyre in 30 yrs of driving, will I get another? Probably, knowing my luck!

RE: Spare wheel

Dont forget you have Land Rover Assist, so probably not worth worrying about, If the goo doesnt work then they'll collect you and get you sorted. Do you want to be emptying your boot and changing one of those large wheels in the pouring rain at night on the side of a busy road in the mud, soaked through to the bone... or just get onto your hands free phone call LRA and stick a DVD on and sit back and relax... RE: Spare wheel

Which is cheaper, spare wheel or Satelite phone?
I'd rather buy the Satelite phone to call LR assist when in the middle of the outback in Australia - over 2 000 km away from nearest dealer Idea

When you put it that way, the spare probably wouldn't get you to the dealer. I think they are only designed for relatively short journeys, certainly not cross Australia.

RE: Spare wheel

LR Australia made a decision that all Evoques will have the space saver spare wheel as standard.

Spare wheel

To be fair, there are not too many places on Oz you can be 2000km from help, and if you are you probably prepared a lot mor than a space saver spare...
