Software Reset
Hi guys,
My 3 year warranty is up on my 2013 prestige and typically the sat nav decides to refuse to switch on. It just says it's initialising and does nothing else no matter how long you leave it. I've also noticed that the speech recognition has stopped working. So I call the dealer and get through to a service engineer who tells me I could try disconnecting the battery (yes, I was surprised he suggested that I should do this). So I disconnected battery and left it overnight but unfortunately all it did was to delete my stored music and mess up my global opening on the windows as well as cause the service warning to come on (possibly other stuff as well). Great!
I have pressed the valet button for 40 seconds and I've noticed that when i scan the status of the software applications, it says that the sat nav has "shut down" and it is not available. Says the same for speech recognition.
Land Rover say they want £65 (+vat I think) to do a diagnostics and then a further 125 if a software reset is required. They tell me that if the sat nav head unit is the problem it could cost 1800 quid!!
I'm just on the brink of looking to upgrade the car in the near future so don't want to chuck money at it if I can help it.
Any ideas as to my best route? Is there a way to reset the software myself?
Thanks in advance.

RE: Software Reset
If your warranty is up, perhaps you could take it to an independent LR specialist. Others on the forum might be able to suggest some...
