Secondary Battery Installation

My secondary battery has failed in my 2014 2.2 9 speed Pure. I've located the battery in the bulk head and bought a replacement. Questions:

1/ Do I need to disconnect the main battery in install it?
2/ Do I need to connect to the cars computer to configure a new battery (if I do I'll need to source a mechanic)
