My £1400 3 year servce plan is paying off.

Yes to these new owners with the free or £500 service deal, I hate you all Very Happy

£1400 for 3 years!... Shocked

£287 + £430 + (£330 if I can negotiate same a cutter7) comes to £1047, and that seems expensive to me! Where was that 5 year £500 service deal in the beginning Crying

Mines been in the dealers for 10 days getting warranty investigation and work done all free of charge! Your dealers need to find their service centers empty and so have to start working for a living!?

When the Gas went in the Volvo the dealer replaced the A/C unit under warranty... And £45 to top up the Mazda every 2 years... where do they get these prices from £99 to service air-con.. what plug it into the machine and spray some disinfectant in it Confused

RE: Second Service time already

The cost of the prepaid service plan is a lot, but for me it's one less cost to come up with before Christmas. What with insurance & road tax to pay at the same time.

Just checked over my paper work.
Service plan with 3 services (covering 4 years) £1326
1st year service £424
2nd year service £588
Guessing that 3rd year service will be more than year 1 (+10%) so £466
Grand total =£1478 less £1326 = £152 saving on the LIST PRICE

Still a lot of money for a car which only covers 4k miles a year. At least the Audi TT I once owned only had to be serviced at 24 months due to the low mileage I cover in my private car.

Understand wanting to spread the cost Doug. Once you're warranty is out you can go a lot longer between services at that mileage.

Good point. We do this with our Merc (only done 30K miles in 6 years). I always give it 14 months between service (should be 12 months) so we have now saved a complete service.Very Happy

I know I have gone on about this before but it really annoys me that JLR enforce a 12 month service regime even for people that do low mileages. To have to spend £400 to service a car after 4k miles is daylight robbery and if you don't you will probably be threatened by the dealer saying your warranty will be void. Are there any lawyers on the forum who could read the warranty contract as I am sure that if the car has done under 16000 miles in 12 months then the contract trying to force a 12 month service could be found to be unreasonable in court, especially for the really low mileage owners

I service the Mazda at 12000 or 2 years Shocked now... easily makes 2 years these days as I use Evo for the Long journeys. (last service after 2 years cost an astounding £180, but I had a belt changed for £80 so pushed me up to a whopping £260... Laughing

RE: Second Service time already

For all the problems we have had with our Evoque and the 1750 miles clocked up taking it back, JLR have given us letters to cover the next three scheduled services free. Be interesting to see the reaction when I present the letter to the dealer in January for the next service. Could be OK or may need a call to a national newspaper.

My last service for the SLK with me supplying the oil, and the garage the oil and fuel filter was €150, which included the anti corrosion inspection and of course a stamp in the book to keep the 30 year mobilo guarantee going.....JLR have alot to learn me thinks ConfusedConfused

RE: Second Service time already

Cardiff dealer quoted me £480, I told them I got a quote from a LR approved garage for £340 and they price matched it, so I would give that a go for sure with ur dealer!

Also services alternate, first service is a check over , second is a main service, third is a check over etc, so next years service will be cheaper so my dealer tells me.
