Its a real scandal... I am sure it would be cheaper to have in stock all seats fonctions the same, with same adjustments driver and passenger.
A friend of mine has just taken delivery of a TOTR Lexus CT200 (£36k) ........ and it doesn't have a height adjustable passenger seat either ....... he is not happy (neither is his partner!)..... bonkers.

Land Rover has never been good on height adjustable seats. The reason we have a Tiguan is that in early 2008 there were no versions of FL2 with a height adjustable passenger seat. As that was the case, we looked at D3 also and only the HSE had a height adjustable passenger seat (not even an option on others), but we did not want something so large. Even the RRS was the same - highest spec only had height adjustable seat. We need it so we can get the seat lower, as we are both tall. Based on this, I would not hold your breath about Evoque getting height adjustable across the full range.

So the 8/8 adjustments applies to both driver & passenger?

I too have the pure and am disappointed that the passenger seat can not be raised.
Has anyone retro fitted the prestige height adjustment to a lower model? And if so what were the costs like?

If you order the plus pack seats they're height adjustable.
5 door MY12 Fuji Dynamic Plus with shadow chromes, santorini contrast roof, power tailgate and a couple of added rattles!
Mods - Black RR bonnet vents, Side steps, Silicone rear wiper, rear sill protector, rear sill plates, LED interior lighting conversion, 2014 Sat Nav update.

Ah. Not 100% sure, sorry! Hadn't read the original post properly. I had thought the motors were in the seat bases and moved it relative to the rails. But not sure.

It isn't just a case of changing the seat, you would have to change the door cards to incorporate the memory buttons and put in wiring between the door, the ECU and the seat if you wanted to the full fit
