Removing bumper inserts

Can anyone tell me if the bumper inserts (the lower centre section of Pure bumper - the bit in silver/grey) can be removed. I believe the front can but not sure if the rear.

I want to get this bit painted black but don't really want the hassle of removing the whole bumper.
