Before anyone starts yes I know I should just enjoy the driving experiance but when you have had the "real" rangerover tdv8 that can do 29 mpg you feel rather disappointed

That doesnt seem right, a much heavier car with a much larger engine getting more mpg??

I know published figures are generally totally unrealistic but that as a real world example is shocking. I persoanlly would have expected maybe 35-37mpg would have been your real world figure.

RE: Real world mpg

Has anyone done a test to confirm the accuracy of the dash display. It's easy to take it as Gospel, but could easily be inaccurate. Best way is to track distance between successive brimming of the tank. Good idea to test the odometer as well against a known distance or, if you have one, a GPS.

RE: Real world mpg

Checking mine a couple of tankfuls ago, the computer was over reading by 0.1mpg based on about 420 miles travelled - so pretty accurate. (a lot better than the D3 computer!)

Mine is booked in to dealer in 2 weeks ,contacted customer services who thought there must be something wrong as it is way off the mark ,was told originally that it would settle down after 1000 miles,
I always brim tank and work out mpg with a calculator, computer is almost spot on

Return journey slower. And 35mpg.
