Hopefully there are some tuning options available. I am new to the LR brand so I'm still learning, but can you tell me if these engines are being used in other LR models? If so, perhaps there are already tuning solutions available.
My preference would be for a tune utilising the OBII as this would make it easy to revert back to stock. I am not a fan of piggybacks unless they are highly advanced and designed for the engine, and not a one-chip-fits-all solution.
Hopefully this would result in improved fuel economy (when not utilising the extra power!).
Also, can someone confirm what the differences are between the TD4 and SD4? Are the engines identical or are there slightly different parts being used? If it's the same the TD4 could easily be tuned to SD4 numbers. Given the price difference in Australia, it would make more sense to go for the SD4 and have peace of mind for warranty though.

I hope so but it doubt there is much they can do. It seems common for car companies to exaggerate numbers, however this is not even close!
