Radio cutting out
As a test I kept my iphone switched off just to be sure that it isn't Bluetooth related but sure enough it made no different and the crackle/fizz interruption happened randomly.

I'm still running original software as delivered and haven't had as much as a single glitch from mine... Hope they find the cause before I do have to take it in for 2nd service!

Me to.mine is due a software update on 14th sept with my 1st service let hope its not the latest software causing the problem.judging by both forum's most people affected have the 825w radio.

I don't believe there is a connection between the Stop/Start - BMS software upgrade.
I had this upgrade last March and had no problems up to this weekend - my car is due for is 2nd birthday trip to the service bays at LPR next week and as far as I'm aware it is not due any major software updates.
A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Mine has never had a software update either
SD4 Dynamic Lux, 5 Door, Firenze Red, Ebony Interior, Black headlining, Black Contrast Panoramic Roof, Aeroflip Spoiler, Privacy glass, Heated steering wheel, Adaptive Xenons, TPMS & Spare wheel

Just to add mine to the list. 825W system. Problem started on 27th August. Never had any issues until that date and nothing has been done to the car since May so it's definitely not related to work or updates.

One thing, I listen to DAB radio all day in my house, I have 3 DAB radios, Sony hifi, a Bose hifi and a Pure "transitor" portable style -none of them has this problem

So no one yet has had the problem with the 375W system? Only 825W owners have this problem...? Anyone able to break this theory. My DAB and USB work superbly (at the moment  ).

I have the 375W version and mine started doing this early last week, I don't get any crackle warnings first it just mutes for about 10-15 seconds on radio etc, and then all is ok.
Drove me crazy yesterday doing it every 10 mn's but today I drove the car for about 1 hour and it only happened once.. Very strange!!
