RATTLE SOLVED !!

After moaning time and again at Marshalls in Melton, I have discovered the hidden cause of the rattle.
It's this :

A bag of carpet clips not attached to the rear carpets .. it had been left in the glove box underneath the service book.
You cannot imagine the drama and heart ache of driving for ages in smooth silence and then for no apparent reason a rattle-jiggling sound would start up. I searched high and low, drove everyone mad ... "push that, press this".
It's a testamant to the cars quietness and ride that I could hear it so clearly when the rattling was set in motion.
I got the car in May and it has been faultless except for this !
Now the car is renewed in my affection. If it just did 60mpg ....

Ah so that's why they have the clips installed at the factory on the MY13 cars... to stop the rattling!!!!!

RE: RATTLE SOLVED !!

My Evoque had been to the dealer for a total of 7 weeks and even though they said that they'd sorted out a rattle from the rear left tailgate area it was actually worse a day later - yesterday I simply pulled the left rear seat belt as far out from its housing as possible then let it slowly retract back - result - no rattle! Just hoping that it stays that way from now on
