nice drawing, now they've got to do what land rover did with the LRX and build something that looks like a concept car.

Cajun was always a code name for "CAyenne JUNior" and who knows why it was dumped; maybe the name is already registered with someone else.

It will certainly give the Evoque a run for its money, will be built in Leipzig and I expect the biggest seller will be an Audi-derived diesel version. If LR want to compete against it, the Evoque is going to have to evolve into higher performance (power, road-holding) versions.

As for the styling, the front looks very Cayenne-esque and the hard points in the Q5 underpinnings will mean they will look disconcertingly similar, it cannot possible have the freshness of the Evoque design. Add to the that the latest blingey interior designs of the Panamera, 911 and Boxster and I'm not getting very excited.

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR

I can see this being what replaces my RRE in 2 years if I am honest - never keep cars very long and never had the same one twice!

If they offer the turbo engine from the Cayenne, it would be very tempting.

Land Rover need to work on a quick Evoque sharpish....

Take the BMW X3 Xdrive35d. 0-60 in 5.8s, 46.3mpg, all for £40k. Amazing.

Don't get suckered in by the mpg figures - in my opinion new cars get further and further away in the real world from what is quoted by manufacturers. All these 7, 8, and probably soon to be 9-speed boxes are great on a dynamo test but in the real world surely all the gear changes that go on will only decrease mpg figures?

I test drove the x3 xdrive35d around farnborough and got 34.5 mpg from it. Most I got from the evoque was 28 doing the same route, so when they say their 8speed dual clutch box is more fuel efficient than a manual, I believe them.
I'm not a fan of BMW styling, but I can't argue against their engineering skills.
