Price hike between MY15 & MY16

Has anybody else noticed a huge price hike between the two models? I am currently looking to acquire an Evogue via Hire Purchase or PCP (No real intention to buy the car) and was previously quoted £565 for an Autobiography and £645 for a Dynamic Lux (With Black Pack and Privacy Glass). For the MY16 Dynamic Lux HSE with the same extras + AD I am being quoted at £750-800PM

Shocked

Also looked at figures on a near new MY15 with LR and they come back even more

Yep there is a huge increase, but they have to pay for the new Ingenium engines and all the tech that they have put into developing them - maybe the beancounters decided that they had to have a return on capital invested in the first 12 months............
The differential that there used to be between Coupe and 5 Door was done away with for 2015MY and it has returned for 2016MY. I'm firmly of the opinion that LR's policy is just to milk their products for everything that they can get out of them these days.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

No price hike for the DS, they must be hoping that Evoque owners will foot the bill. Having said that though the DS came out a bit more expensive than people expected, so probably priced with the new engine in mind.

Certainly, a driver for the new engines is to get the cost down compared to buying them in from Ford - petrol, don't know where the old diesels came from - and to get more competitive emissions. The petrol has always struggled with being last year's model engine.

I do think the Evoque is looking quite expensive these days and there's the danger it will start to tread on the toes of the Macan.

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR

Wow, to Order My Exact Spec (actually not possible anymore as have to add a Pack for the electric Tailgate and no aeroflip spoiler?) now sets me back £6000 more than mine.

Have to optionally add Active Dynamics now, and to get electric Tailgate have to add convenience pack.

Guess it's a victim of it's own success, too many people buying, so the price could be dearer!

Good news for re-sale prices though!

So they havn't ,made enough profit from all the cars they have sold since the launch of the Evoque? Discraceful behaviour!

Interesting to hear the price increases. But good news in a way for resale values remaining high for MY15< models. Don't know about the rest of the world, but in Aust car prices in 2015 are extremely cheap in comparison to 50 years ago. Back then it took 60 weeks for a male earning the average wage to buy a base model ford falcon. In comparison today, it only takes 25 weeks! Sometimes I forget just how much better off we actually are.
