Should the manual tailgate open automatically?

Hi,

I have just bought a 2016 Evoque SE Tech. It doesn't have a power tailgate. My question is that when I open the tailgate, should it pop open all the ay or just get unlocked so that I have to manually open it? If anyone can confirm I will be grateful.

Just open not raise itself up
