Possible retro-fit of Apple CarPlay available?

I'm not taken to buying copies of the Land Rover Owner Internation/Monthly/Enthusiast type specialist LR magazines but with a long and boring flight to look forward to recently I picked a copy of LRM at the airport. In the ads there is one for a company called "UrbanTruck" (yes another Kahn/Overfinch bespoke builder of Defenders) and in their advert on page 73 there is a small window that states "call us for details on Apple CarPlay" - well I couldn't call them from where I was so I looked at their website when I had internet access and there is no mention of it there http://www.urban-truck.com but if any body is interested in inquiring about what they can do to upgrade to it then their phone number is 01908 366788

I also looked at their "New Cars for sale " section.................. now a Zanzibar Defender 90 Special Edition would look very nice on my drive sitting in front of my Zanzibar Evoque! Rather than pay £49k for a new Defender fettled by them I wonder how much a conversion of my existing 90 would cost!

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Tim

Gave Urbantruck a ring. Nice chap said they only dealt with Defenders, and couldn't see them getting involved with Evoques.

Thanks for calling them - I'm sure that if there was demand from Evoque owners they would soon create a "revenue stream" from fitting it!
I have had a reply from them too about the Zanzibar Special Edition Defender - basically you supply any Defender you like and they rebuild it to what you want (for a price) I doo like their flush glazed "panoramic" windows that replace the sliding ones I have on the rear of my 90, with a contrast roof, full limo tint side windowds that extend from the B pillar round the rear coners to the back door that is also finished with flush glazed limo glass I could have my Defender looking like the Evoque's contrast roof and privacy glazing! Once I I ahve time I will post a link to the Zanzibar Defender that they have sent me.

If I understood anything you wrote about your Defender plans, then I'm sure I'd be really impressed. Laughing

Very Happy
