Pale coloured seats

What are you guys and gals out there using to protect your lovely light coloured Leather seats from staining by such things as blue jean dye bleed and the like. I'm going to try some of this -

I used scotchgard spray,very good and easy to spray on

+1 or at least it seems to be very effective so far.

Excuse my ignorance but do you treat the leather immediately and use it to maintain colour quality?

From what I've picked up on the net, the protection should be applied as soon as you can after getting your car. Apparently the protection layer is like a sacrificial coat that makes the leather easier to clean from dirt and dye transfer. It stops the contaminants getting into the leather. Recommendations seem to be to clean regularly with a good leather cleaner and re-protected every 6 months.

I just did a forum search for 'jeans' and it bought up a few threads. Probably more on there if I looked deeper. But, from what I've read, I'll be getting the GTechniq products

Yes it does help!inside and out as it gives a good coating as you then have a piece of mind it has then been done correctly the outside as well a good polish and then wax then sealer!

I applied two coats of L1 to all the light surfaces both Leather and plastics as soon as I picked up the car. The drivers seat has had some blue on the bolster from jeans which has come off easily. Gtechniq recommended to me that I clean regularly and recoat with a layer of L1 every 2-3 months.
