Ordered november, bad news

Is Range Rover or dealers cheating us with false delivery dates?
I called another dealer in Switzerland and asked how long i will have to wait if i order the same car i have ordered last November.

He said order today => delivery in September!!
From this answer and other impressions i get in this forum i tend to think, that there is a strategy to tell the potential buyers a short waiting time and as soon they signed the contract, they change the delivery time!
