So many concept cars are shown with the super slim wing mirrors, how come they don't get to be produced like that, is there a legal reason or down to visibility?

They have to be a certain percentage of the total front surface of the car. A European thing.
Super slim mirrors on prototypes are usually meant to be cameras instead of actual mirrors.
