RE: Its off to the bodyshop!

Well folks I finally had my shiny car delivered back to me on Monday and the Insurers are about £6,000 lighter if you take into consideration the courtesy car costs.

New steering rack at £1,200 plus loads of parts. The important thing here is that having the car repaired at a LR dealership little things like specialist software re installation was carried out at my main dealer so I feel confident a good job has been done. There was a hiccup when I received a letter for my £350 excess by the garage but that was sorted in a trice.

In addition I noted a small scrape on the rear bumper and that was not there before the accident. The garage have immediately said to drop it it in at my convenience and they will sort it without any charge.

This is the first claim I have had to make in over 20 years and having heard all the stories about poor service from companies this has been handled swiftly (apart from the Christmas break butting in) and courteously by all involved.

Just in time for the snow and those Pirelli Verde all season tyres in GGS mode seem to work fine. And the steering works!

So well done the Admiral and the insurance industry - you are not all bad.

Cheers
Griff

RE: Its off to the bodyshop!

Thanks for the good wishes folks.
I can say the car is handling well in the white stuff and I have no intention of letting this go back into the body shop, apart from the very light plastic bumper scrape.

Cheers
