How to remove the Aluminium trim from the centre console

Thanks to Markpitch for posting the link to this PowerfulUK video on YouTube. Recently a lot of people have been asking how to remove these trim pieces so I'll "sticky" it here

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: How to remove the Aluminium trim from the centre console

Have you tried any of these aftermarket dash trim kits?

I just saw one in my friends Evoque and it was STUNNING. He said he installed it in less than a lunch break. I see the most photos about it on the PureEvoque facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Pure-Evoque-114181425371518/ but you can also go directly to the source http://www.pureevoque.com/specials.html,

but you won't get the full effect unless you see the photos on Facebook. I think I might try a kit myself.
