How to change my standard alloys to black ones?

I'm guessing I could go to my local LR dealer and they'll swap them from some nice, glossy black ones - but I'm aslo guessing that's very expensive. Plus, what do I do with the old ones?!

So I'd be grateful for some advice on my options. Can I get them painted black and is that recommended? If I have them replaced (although I really like the style of my current alloys), where is best?

And could anyone offer a ballpark figure? £500 definitely, under £1k I'd consider it, more than that and I'm not so sure...

If it were me, I'd checkout some of the wheel restorers in your area, I had my Mazda Wheels restored which were dinged and corroded, they made a superb job and the finish was hard as nails, I could have chosen any colour I liked. 4 wheel complete restoration charged £260. But The car was off the road for 4 days as they put some old bald tyre'd wheels on and took the wheels away as they have to be baked in an oven after spraying.

To finish them off when they returned I put gTechniq C5 on them and when I sold the car the other day they still looked stunning!

Someone like the "Wheel Specialist" will sandblast the wheels and powdercoat them in whatever colour you want for around £100 per wheel.

Alternatively you could plastidip them, I know people have used plastidip on their wheels but no idea on the final finish or durability.

Lepsons would be my recommendation.

Any colour or finish you could want....

Check out the Plasti Dip solution as you can spray them black then coat with Plasti Dip Gloss and they claim it's fairly straightforward and always removable/repairable down the road.
Google Plasti Dip and there are several really good YOU TUBE vids that show exactly how to apply to wheels, both the color coat and gloss coat.

My local LR dealer said he could get my alloys redone in black for about £600. You might want to ask yours. Also as mighTTy-RRE says, a decent refurb shop that strips the alloys back should be able to re coat them in black for you

£600 robbery! my dealer had mine done for £280, just 300 metres down the road from the dealership - first class job as well.
