Hosepipe ban - how do I wash my car now?

With a hosepipe ban in my area (which I suspect will last the summer at least), how do I wash my car? I've never liked carwashes as I like to take my time and be careful I don't damage the car.

Report on BBC website states that any washing of cars - any non essential use of water, might possibly be banned, so even 2 buckets might get you a fine.Sad

Take a nice drive up either the M1 or M6 towards Scotland. We have buckets of the stuff to give away. Hear they are thinking of running pipe along side the new High Speed Rail Link (yawn yawn) to export water from Scotland to the partched south!

So by 2080(?) you should have Scottish water running through your pipes
