Thanks. Yes, looking around, the Dynamic is my favourite. One thing though, they seem to come with 20" wheels. I drove a Pure Tech one the weekend with 18" wheels and I found the ride...firm. Well, compared to my FL2, anything will be firm! I liked the taughtness of the suspension but wouldn't like it to be much stiffer. Do the 20" wheels give the Dynamic a harsher ride and am I correct in thinking that all Dynamic models have adjustable dampers?

Hi Steve I have the dynamic lux it is on 20" wheels it doesn't feel like an overly firm ride. In fairness my previous car was a beemer on run flats!!!

Steve Hi, Dynamics don't have magnetoride dampers as standard any more. If you want that you need to pay extra - I think £800.
Ask Spiderman on the 'other' forum about it - if you have a spare week!

RE: Hi. Thinking of getting one.

SteveD, the car was designed to ride on 20" wheels with no loss of comfort don't worry about the ride, it is up to Range Rover standard. The Magneride and 20" wheels/tyres give much much less roll than you are used to in the Fl2 and a lot less roll than in the Pure and Prestiges without Magneride (it was optional on Prestiges). The Magneride system opreates all the time, engaging Dynamic Mode on the TR changes the map to make it react more quickly which also firms up the handling and changes the electric power steering map, if you don't want to drive on twisty backroads all the time then you can switch it off back to the normal ride assisted by Magneride. All Dynamics before 2016MY had both 20" wheels and Magneride as standard in the UK. Satnav was standard too on Dynamic and Prestige. Prestige came standard with 19" wheels but mnay were upgraded to 20's. I ran 2 Dynamics, a Coupe and Door, both Dynamic Lux Plus (Plus Pack gave you high backed and exceptionally comfortable Recaro seats). Expect to pay a premium for a Lux but (unfortunately for the previous owners who paid £3000 extra for the seats and more leather) Plus Pack should not cost any more than a Lux...............Big Cry I think that your budget may be a bit low for a 2014MY Dynamic Lux but should get you a 2013MY. Personnally I would avoid all 2014MY 9 Speed Autos as there has been a littany of gearbox ECU upgrade problems with the cars built in 1st quarter 2014........ hence why I and a couple of other 2014MY owners arenow driving an RRSport!

Thanks all. I'm learning more and more as I go on.

One more question: I'm looking at approved cars at the momemt and I see that they are offering 2 years free servicing as long as you use their 7.9% finance deal and dont pay the balance off within 6 months. What do you think would happen if I saw one for, say, £34,500, accepted their finance deal to get the free servicing and put down a £34,000 deposit? Do you reckon they'd wear it? lol.

Steve I have just gone from the FL2 to dynamic and got 20 inch wheels and I would say is a better ride than the FL.... so I don't think that's a problem... what I would do is to pick a model and test drive it... pick another with different wheels and test drive it and thats the the only way you will know as we are all different .... Steve, I can't tell if you're taking the P so I might be saying something silly/obvious here. If you put £34K deposit down that only leaves £500 to finance. I've just read this through again, I am being silly and you are taking the P.

No Walt, not taking the P. Well, maybe to the LR dealership IF I bought one from them. I dont need finance for it BUT if you have their finance you get 2 years free servicing. It just doesn't state HOW MUCH finance you have to have. In other words, I'll just be borrowing £500 to comply with the T&C to get the free servicing deal. I wouldn't mind paying 7.9% on £500 to get that. Wink

RE: Hi. Thinking of getting one.

OK Steve but that's not going to happen is it. I have heard of people taking finance out for 95% to get a LR subsidy of £1,500 (but that's on new cars) and then paying that off early.
All the best in your attempts however.

RE: Hi. Thinking of getting one.

Land Rover dealers have a bit of a quiet period now after the September rush, you could ask what the minimum loan would be. I think £500 might not go down too well as that must hardly cover the finance setting up cost, also don't forget that the dealer get commission on every loan through LR Finance. You may find that you can get a better deal NOT taking the finance like chucking in the service pack for free. If you are looking at a 2 years old used car it would also be wise to check that the car doesn't already have the balance of the 3 year agreement outstanding. I have also heard of some dealers who are selling on cars that had the 5 yearsservice pack without telling the new owner and then fleecing them for another service agreement.......... the service pack is transferable to the new owner so please check the car you ar interested in doesn't have a service pack alreasy.
