RE: Gutted...

I've checked and my dealer has assured me that it will be specialists coming in as they do all windscreen replacements. And he told me that yes, it is an official LR windscreen and not a generic replacement. He has been very helpful actually throughout the whole process. Feel bit better about the whole thing.

The only thing is I'm not sure whether or not to have it picked up tomorrow? Apparantly it is OK to drive it after an hour of it being replaced, which contradicts what you were saying here about leaving it overnight?

Arrived: Range Rover Evoque Prestige SD4 5 door in Fuji White & Vibe Interior. Extras: Lux Pack, Adaptive Dynamics, Rear Entertainment, 20" Style 6 Wheels, Ebony Headlining, Adaptive Xenon, Hi Beam Asssist, Privacy Glass, Homelink, Heated Steering.

Depends on the type of windscreen - I had a Mercedes convertible that had to be left for 2 days to have the bonded windscreen done but many can be driven straight away.

Its probably a company like Autoglass that do the glass repairs for the dealers.

As mark_n said make sure you check the interior for any damage too - top of the dashboard, pillars, headlining etc. As yours is black at least you shouldnt have to worry about finger prints on them!

Also check the paintwork round the outside of the screen as there is a special tool required to remove the screen on other LR's with bonded on screens. Failure to use the special tool results in damaged paint around the window edge.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

I've done some research into this and it seems that there is a new type of adhesive that sets within an hour. I think where you've had to leave it overnight or for a couple of days, its probably been the old type adhesive. Just hope its as strong and durable as the original one. I should think so as it would be against safety regs if it were weaker in any way...
