Got a call - good and not so good news.

Hi all.

Got a call from our dealer this evening with good news...and not so good.

The good news - our car is scheduled to arrive at the dealer 15th - 22th March.
Not so good - there's a shortage of the Style 7 Chrome Shadow alloys. (I've just checked and they are currently not available on the LR website).

We'll be getting the Sparkle Silver instead, but my dealer has informed me that their bodyshop can make these look the same as the Chrome Shadow. Naturally I'm a bit dubious about this. Does anyone think/believe dealers are able to do this, or has anyone had this done?

I'm inclined to let them go ahead with this, with the caveat that if the wheels do not look the same they will replace them when the Shadow wheels become available again.

Any thoughts?

I would take the car as it is. My OG dynamic turned up a few weeks ago I was delighted to see how good the sparkles look. I originally wanted to change my order to shadow chrome but was too late and am now glad that it turned out that way.

Have a look at them first and get to garage to replace them later if you want....

Anyway, I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to get a trade in value for my D3. Will discuss the options then.

Quick update having been at the dealers this morning.

We've agreed to look at the car with the Style 6 wheels on when it arrives. If we still want to go for the Shadow Chrome the body shop will do their stuff.
I did say that if we weren't happy with the look of the updated wheels we would be looking to have the original Style 7 wheels fitted when they become available. The dealer is goimng to have to take this to LR.

I love my style 6 sparklies, really compliment the rest of the car and look really clean.
