Fuse box in passenger compartment

Morning all, does anyone know if this fuse box is permanently live or not?

Looking at having a dash cam installed and they need an internal fuse box that is off with ignition

Thanks

RE: Fuse box in passenger compartment

Just had a dashcam wired into my 2014 Dynamic. They wired it so that it is permanently powered.

It's easy enough to test, just see if there's a live connection with the ignition off. Alternatively, look in your handbook and see what fuses are there, and if any of them are for permanent live systems like courtesy lights.

You'll get a false reading if you do as Donny Dog suggests.

Mine is piggybacked off of the fuse that does the 12v power socket in the armrest cubby. That becomes live when the door is opened and shuts down a minute or two after you have locked the car.

Usually in cars there are empty fuse sockets that are for this purpose, does the Evoque not have them?

Just to add, I used one of these to take the feed from the 12v power socket fuse.

Thanks for the answers guys.
Archieboy, which company did you use for yours?
I ask in Halfords and the chap said they need a supply that turns off with the ignition.
SteveD that is a very good idea - I like that
Bradleyu1, according to the fuse box plan there are plenty of spares and I have to say I was confused when the person said the fuse box needs to switch off with ignition not just one fuse.

I think I may need to talk to someone else in Halfords who knows more

Have a look here:

Pretty sure mine was fitted to fuse 55. Test it with something plugged into the 12v supply socket. It should shut off after the door has been shut for a while and become live when you re-open the door. Then pull the fuse and check it again.
