RE: Evoque vs FL2 - photo

I think all the RRE's on the transporters with the right hand exhaust cover missing are the TD4's as they only come with a single exhuast...

RE: Evoque vs FL2 - photo

It was mentioned a couple of times on this forum that the TD4's would not be produced before the end of December (just like the eD4's).
My dealer has always said my TD4 would arrive ealier. How about this? Was it a misunderstanding then?

The 'missing exhaust trim cars' I've seen on around 20 transporters in the last 2 weeks were NOT single exhaust TD4s because:

The exhaust trim that was in place was rectangular (as per Dynamic);

I could see the actual exhaust that sits behind the missing trim; it is round with a downturn (when in place, the trim 'converts' it to rectangular).

TD4 is available with a Dynamic trim in Europe, so they could still be TD4's.

I've seen a number of the transporters on the M6 recently. The ones with the plastic missing have no exhaust on the right hand side and as we are all aware now. ALL td4's will be single exhausts. The SD4's I've seen on hte transporters have both covers for exhausts (and exhausts) in place. Hence I'll stick to my earlier assumption... However wish I new the TD4 was a single exhaust earlier as I would have gone for the SD4 !!!Rolling Eyes

I have mostly seen them as I overtook (slowed right down to get a decent look), but once I was stationary right behind an Evoque with the trim missing and I could clearly see a second exhaust.

It would appear that the TD4s have a single exhaust but the missing trim cars I saw had two exhausts. I believe the early comment about the trim being removed to access the transit lashing point on Dynamics.

Great Photo!

I would expect that trim covers the towing hook mounting point.

RE: Evoque vs FL2 - photo

If the 2nd outlet is missing AND it is really that big a deal, a simple swop of the exhaust (£185 for the Dynamic Exhaust, so should be very similar for the 2 outlet SD4 Prestige Exhaust) and a tow eye cover (£36.90 for the Dynamic bit) should do the trick.

Current: SD4 Dynamic Auto, 5 Door, Orkney Grey with Black Contrast Pano roof and 20" Shadow Chrome wheels. Pursuit interior. [countdown="Hand over"]15th June 2013 2:00pm[/countdown]

Gone: Si4 Prestige Auto Coupe, Orkney Grey with Panoramic Roof, Element interior, Shadow Chrome 20" wheels with most of the bits & pieces loaded. [countdown="Hand over"]29th November 2011 2:00pm[/countdown]

If you zoom in it does look like there's an exhaust box on the right. Also interesting that there is no land rover badge on the right!

That's because there is an exhaust there! The light grey egg shape is the silencer box and the dark grey oval in the middle of it is a downturned pipe. I know because I spent 2 minutes looking at it from 10 feet when stationary in traffic.

Removed rear bumper/exhaust outlet trim = a dynamic lashed to a transporter (2 exhaust pipes).
