RE: Evoque Unleashed London

I think the Unleashed Event guys have only ever used the Terrapod for the " offroading" demo at these events - much easier to control over-enthusiastic drivers who wouldn't ever dream of taking their own car into offroad situations but once let loose in one of LR's own cars.................. One thing is that Terrapod was developed by LR to show off the technology in the car without risking expensive damage if an inexperienced driver should stray off the route and into the wilds.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Were you pleased still with the black LP and any news on your date?

For those who've been how many people/couples/cars are at each time slot?

Yep. The black looked great. We just can't decide if we should get ebony headlining too now. For full 'stealth mode'.

We were in car number 22. I think they had about 25 cars for people to take out. Some people went by themselves.

I've got a delivery date but keeping it a secret from my brother so can't say.
Tim - We didn't get to use hill decent control. Just very small (maybe 1 foot high) terrapods. Still quite fun. We had the car balanced on two wheels and were rocking back and forth.

Am guessing due to the height restriction at Westfields.

Good date I hope!

Looking at your photos it looks like the "base" for the event was an underground carpark, terrapod would never have got into a location like that - maybe LR think those living in London will only be using their Evoque as a fashion accessory so didn't need to show off it's offroad abilities, only it's speed hump crossing abilityLaughing

Good grief ... not very challenging.

Mind you you’re probably the first group to see the ambient lighting in action. Any thoughts / comments?

SD4 Prestige Sport Auto 5 Door, Sumatra Black with Ambience interior, Magneride AD, 20" Style 6 Wheels, Panoramic Roof, Surround Cameras, Electric Tailgate, ADRVM.......& Heated Steering Wheel......Gorgeous

RE: Evoque Unleashed London

[/size]The red lighting in dynamic mode (or whatever it's called) was kinda cool, but it really needs to be dark i suspect to appreciate it. However I didn't much care for the speedo - not the clearest so I found myself checking the digital readout when passing speed cameras.

I flipped back the wing mirrors (press both internal buttons simultaneously) and noticed it does bring them in roughly in line with the wheel arches which is more than I'd thought when I tried the same at Canary Wharf a couple of months ago (my garage door is a bit narrow!)

Someone asked about exhaust pipes / finishers the other day on here. The dynamic chrome squares aren't actually connected to the exhaust pipe. The pipe just ends shortly before the finisher. Therefore I guess that:
1. The exhaust note will be the same
2. Those of you picking Prestige but wanting a Dynamic rear may well be able to do it without changing the exhaust if you can buy the rear bumper parts. Disclaimer: I have no mechanical skills so may be talking out of my (dynamic) backside

If you try locking the car and a door is open, it bleeps. Otherwise just the lights flash when locking. A useful touch, but presumably common on some other cars.

Has anyone tried a car with a manual boot lid? All the cars there had the electric ones.

Kinda liked the black roof lining (so long as you have a panoramic roof too).

The mini terra pod was a bit pathetic. Presumably LR sell off road training courses to actually learn how to use the car fully. They prob should have had a mock school gate, uneven kerbs and some speed bumps for the true London off-road experience.

I think the mood lighting is a bit of a gimmick. Would go so far as to say that the dynamic red mood lighting is a bit tacky. Its a bit 'all talk and no trousers'.
