Evoque Rear Brakes: Wore out at 25,000 KM???!!!

i have had similar issues with the brakes on mine more brake dust accumulation on rears, car skidding under heavy braking, soft feel to the pedal until you brake heavily when it feels firmer for a while , cruise control not engaging until i had braked heavily. landrover assist have been out to the car twice and test driven it but found nothing wrong, the dealership could not find anything wrong at the service. its booked in to the dealers on the 20th of december but I doubt they are going to find anything.

Does anyone know if the hazard lights are supposed to come on after heavy braking at any speed or do you have to be travelling a certain speed for them to activate? as mine have only activated once thoughout all my braking tests. can't see any mention in the manual and the LRA tech was unsure

I believe the hazards do come on for some braking events, but never seen it happen myself.

Hi Ed,

Just to confirm, this is a safety feature, and should only happen under very heavy braking, however under normal circumstances they would not activate.

Yes they certainly do - wally Polish idiot pulled out in front of me on the Autobahn a couple of weeks ago. Emptyish road, he was doing 60 - 70 mph and I was doing 120mph and he was about 200 m in front of me. Got full DSC lights, beeps and indicators and brake assist; fortunately he pulled back in when he was about half way over the white line and we carried on with a slightly higher heart rate!!

I have been complaining to my dealer about excessive brake dust in the rear and my dealer said that this is normal and i should not worry. 30,000 km later, i had to bite the bullet and replace the rear brakes. When I asked the LR dealer why this is the case, they do not know. I asked if this is related to a recall order about adjusting brake calipers of LR Evoque but the LR Service said that this is not related at all and that my car is not part of the recall. So i just have to scratch my head and have my car service elsewhere. I brought my Evoque to an Audi-certified mechanic, he replaced the brakes and i now noticing less brake dust. Looks like Audi mechanics are better trained?

Thanks for the reply Pete my car has only done this once but it involved someone pulling out in front of me while doing about 60 and then the hazards activated. As i have issues with my brakes i was testing them by basically stamping on the pedal as hard as i can i.e. emergency stop. Is it only active over a certain speed? My testing has mostly been done at around 30-40 mph and it did not activate the hazards once. LRA have been out and test driven it but have found everything to be operational. last time there had been snow and everything seemed to be braking properly in the slippery conditions. Its booked into the dealers again on the 20th so hopefully they can find something.

never had any lights or beeps in mine at all?
