Just received an e-mail from Dealership at Oxford, that confirms order placed with LR.

Build date 14.10.2011

That seems like a very short time between the build date and delivery??

@Paulus - its about right I believe, it doesn't actually take v long to build a car on the production line.

It wasn't the time to build the car I was thinking about, it was the whole process of build to delivery to dealer. A week still seems very quick to me.

Great news Cutter...when did you put your deposit down and place the order.
Arrived 16th December 2011: 5 door Prestige SD4 auto in Barolo black with ambience interior, pano roof, privacy and 20" style 6 alloys.Very Happy

I do agree also, but it's a better date than when i was told at 'deposit time' sales manager said "maybe end Nov, poss Dec" but now order has been confirmed by LR to dealership, i'm happy for delivery to be mid Nov. As long as i have it before the last 2 years winter snow comes!. My rear wheel B'mr sat on the drive for 2 weeks..Embarrassed

I paid depoIt last October ordered April and haven't had a build date or anything yet!! Just indication of oct/nov delivery. Anyone else in the same position as me?

So am I right in thinking up until 2 months before delivery (or 1.5 months before build) you can change your order? …. Which is what my dealer told me.
