Engine question ... Td4 sd4

How? do you have an evoque to work on somehow? I would have thought it would be similar to mapping a freelander which can be done but who knows what effect any extra electronics/software might have.

I don't need the car at first I only need it's software calibration file which I have. Once I have this i can Start work on the tuning and them move on to the car when available to finalize.

Guys....take a look at http://www.tunit.com diesel tuning, typically 20-30% increase in power/torque.
Evoque made the listing of available products already.

I already have one of those tuneit boxes here. I am puzzled how it works on an SD4 , I cannot find a remap listed for an SD4 yet

If an SD4 is just a remapped td4 surely if you remapped both engines they would produce the same power ?

Just checking, Didn't somebody mentioned that Td4 has a single exhaust (vs Sd4 having two)? If that's the case, would that not mean a different exhaust set for the two, which could translate to different power figures? Hence other thgs which could be different - apart from the fuel maps, different sized turbo manifold, different fuel rail pressures....

How does Tunit work?

Looking at that description, this means it works by modifying the diesel commonrail pressures. Which means we can still upgrade the diesel fuel pump, air intake (K&N anyone), change the AFR maps, change the boost pressures, (and if its electronic throttle) we can change the throttle response. Tuners might able to do this once the Evoque comes out, and it sure will be interesting stuff to look out for (esp for the power-hungry)

It's all possible, but only by bench mapping, evoque will almost certainly have edc17 ecu which can't be mapped through obd port

Just checking then to upgrade £1000 to an SD4 is a waste of money as someone can just retune the TD4 to an SD4 performance pretty easily?

If someone could confirm as I am currently debating the TD4 v SD4
