You might take it to a seat repair place for an estimate (and an opinion of what's wrong). If they confirm it shouldn't look like that given the miles, then you might go directly to LR. I bought a R Rover new in 1999 and pointed out to my dealer that I though the driver seat was wearing oddly. Service manager didn't even look at it and said: "Hey, if you feel you need it replaced, no problem. Just set up an appointment and bring it in."
