Pinking on my SD4?

When driving home the other day I accelerated hard uphill to where I live and heard a noise from the engine that sounded like 'pinking'. Today I had the same experience on the same road as I accelerated.
I've had the car six weeks and I don't use supermarket diesel, I use Shell V Power.
Anyone else had this?

No, I use V Power (or Nitro or whatever they call it now) too. Have you checked your oil level lately?

Yes I checked the oil the other day even though I topped up about two weeks ago with the correct Shell C1 spec oil, it was fine.
I did experience a very loud startup engine noise from cold last week and had it into Land Rover but they said their computer shows no problems.
