RE: Can't decide!

It was certainly a factor lower than the Manual Tim, I always though the Manual needed a longer 6th gear as the Revs were unnecessarily high on Motorways.

I agree Pete, it's one of the reasons they've manage to make the 9 speeder more economical, and Motorway journey MPG in the Manual are definitely a bit poor because of the higher Revs if you're pushing on!

I concur with ~1300 rpm, oh hang on in Oz that would be breaking the speed limit, so I have obviously never speeds that dangerous beforeLaughing

To be honest I can count the changes up to about 7th, but dont easily detect the 7-8-9 changes. But the gaps between 1-2-3 seem quite wide and this is where I notice some hesitation in the change.

70 is near enough to legal on our interstate freeways but I guess there would be quite a bit of down-shifting for undulating terrain.

Use the paddles to see what gear you're in. When you're cruising, hit the right hand paddle and see if the revs dip. The actual gear will also display in the centre screen. If the revs don't dip and you see '9' then you'll know that automatic mode is reaching that gear. I have no idea if the ZF block-shifts upwards under acceleration (don't forget that it'll usually pull away in 2nd gear) - if that's the case, then counting lurches won't work.
