Build date has moved forward....

Just spoken to the dealer - my build date of 11 May as come forward a week to the 4th of May, with an expected factory departure date of the 15th and delivery to the dealer on the 22nd May - its getting closer (ordered 1st week December 2011).

I wonder how LTR calculate build dates - is it when they commit the body shell build and paint - or when the painted body shell goes into assembly? Did any of you guys who have done factory tours discover I wonder?

Feels like it may actually happen...

My build and delivery dates mirror yours Straydox so indeed it is getting closer.

When one looks at the other Orders threads it seems the many vehicles leave the factory within 2 or 3 days of build and are enroute to the dealer - I guess LR build some slack into the dates in case anything fails in final QA and the vehicle has to go to rectification and back through QA again. It would seem the 15th for the ex-factory date is a worst-case. We shall see.

The build date has moved forward again by a day to Thursday 3rd...

Seems to be the norm, build dates getting earlier.

This does appear to be the norm as my was not due for delivery until 18th May 2012 but had a email from the dealer on Monday stating that delivery and pick up is now the 28th April 2012 thats 20 days early so can't wait now. Have been waiting since October 2011 though.

My build date came 1 week forward 28/04 to 20/04. A colleague of mine his car arrived one week ago, although he had ordered three weeks later from another dealer. So I decided to drop by the dealer today to see if he had the papers so I could start sorting my paperwork. Turns out it had arrived today, at least that's what he said.

My order went through on 02/01, so that's just under five months. Long weekend here, so too bad I don't have it now.

The car was all wrapped up and needed some cleaning. They said the papers hadn't arrived from the uk yet, so I couldn't have taken it anyyways. I'm happy anyways
