Auto Zoom in Nav

Hey all!

I have been using the nav a lot over the last few days and noticed a feature called "Auto Zoom" that appears when you adjust the zoom level in the nav. I turned it on, but it doesn't appear to have any effect. Does anyone know what it does or how it behaves?

I would guess that it would auto zoom in and out either depending on speed or the length of route set. Once turning it on however I didn't notice it adjusting the zoom in anyway.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Cheers.

I have auto zoom set on mine and I notice it most on motorway driving - it will tend to zoom out but then zoom in as I slow down to maneuver any motorway exits/slips. I'm not sure if the zoom level is varied according to your actual speed, or your estimated speed depending on the type of road you're driving on and whether any junction instructions are being given.

Ah okay! So it does work Wink. I think that in Vancouver it most likely only identifies one of the motorways and an actual one (at least it is the only one it switches to motorway mode on where it shows the upcoming exits and amenities). Next time I am on it, I will have to keep my eyes out for the zooming out.

RE: Auto Zoom in Nav

The NAV on later cars is definitely different as I noticed on the '12' plate loaner I have at the moment it zooms and also "says" the names of most roads to turn in to which my November 2011 Evoque definitely didn't do.

RE: Auto Zoom in Nav

I think this is added features with the latest version of the map pack available on navigation.com/landrover for 2013. I will order the update and see if I get the changes that MY2013 has.

RE: Auto Zoom in Nav

It is not a full auto zoom but rather an auto zoom IN. First set the zoom level to e.g. 1km, then it should zoom in for turnings and zoom out again up to the 1km.
