Anyone "upgraded" bulbs on a Pure (Halogens)

Is it just a straight swap from the HB3 Halogen to an H3 white bulb?

How easy are these bulbs to fit? Only reason I ask is that I once owned a 2005 Megane for which Renault has made it impossible to change bulbs without going to the dealer. The swines...

Yes - but are much cheaper on e-bay. If you follow the proceedure in the handbook you can "slide" the headlight unit forward a couple of inches in order to access the bulbs. They are a simple fit but can't comment on access as I changed my bulbs as the headlights were out of the car (I now have German LHD headlights).

Thanks for the info. How well does the colour of those bulbs match the LED DRLs?

firm i used was motocare.co.uk and cost £17.29 delivered. i would say they are very close in colour to the DRLs

I upgraded my headlights on my Pure with halogens to a Zenon bulb supplied and fitted by Halfords. It was done by them in about 6 minutes and there was a big improvement. I live in Scotland and most of my night driving is in total darkness and after my Disco 3 halogen the comparison was pretty poor. The bulbs were the same watts (60) as the origonals. I also had to adjust the head lights a little because they we shining into the trees on the side of the road. LR had checked them and said the setting was right but if you can't see ahead I had no option but to tweek them

Can I ask how much Halfords charged you for this as it sounds like a fairly cheap upgrade and without the hassle of having to do it your self

Bought bulbs for van last week and they wanted £6 each to change. Halfords do have (well, did last week) a deal on their top bulbs at the moment BOGOF.
