My first thought as well... But then if you compare it to this http://www.flickr.com/photos/64312021@N06/5874553136/ being a Jag in lunar grey (supposed to be same??) then it's not so clear cut.

Believe it or not all the exterior shots of the cars in the video are computer generated - its only the interior shots that are actual real cars. So the cars colour in the video doesn't truly reflect any production colour I'm afraid.

In that case can we get LR to use these guys for the rendering on their car configurator. MUCH more realistic than the colour rendering on the website.

I agree ..... although the colours on the configurator have improved a bit since launch.

mmmm… by way of example, here is the Evoque in Orkney Grey (LR website)

with the RRS in Orkney Grey (from same LR website)

and the Jaguar in Lunar Grey (since Orkney Grey is supposed to be the Lunar Grey Jag is using)

So will the real Orkney / Lunar Grey stand up?

I suppose those guys used some more powerfull computer and maybe rendered the scenes in the movie for hours, while on the website it just a poor Flash used and as it executes on the client computer must be designed to cope with real-time rendering (as you turn the car around and change its appearance) on much weaker PC computers. The web page must also load quite fast so it cannot have a rendering with very high resolution...

RE: Any pics of Orkney Grey?

The Flash animation doesn't use actual 3D models, just plain pictures and a nice transition effect.
Anyway even if the colour was spot-on, your computer monitor would probably display it differently. I'm working on calibrated screens every day and even then colour is a big problem.

I understand the frustration but if you're really worried about such small colour differences, you'll have to wait until you can see the car in the flesh.

I fancied white but my wife is pushing for the grey.

Does anyone have a real pic of a grey Evoque?

If you picked grey, would you go for black or grey leather?

Black leather with orkney grey, trust me. Did you spec panoramic roof too? if not, you should of.

I did not spec a panoramic sunroof, but I am having second thoughts.

What put me off was the fact I had one on my previous E class merc and never pulled back the 'cover'
