Makes sense, but if one can get a perfectly good GPS signal through a heated windscreen when using a portable SatNav, I am struggling to see how a few microns of paint will make any differenceQuestionQuestion

I was using an industrial GPS receiver dome antenna today and it clearly had written on it DO NOT PAINT!

RE: roof antenna?

All the domed antennae and whip aerails on the ship also have that written on them, from experience of a 'thick" sailor who did paint one even the satcom domes (1m+ in diameter) onboard cannot transmit or receive through a coating of enamel paint........... expensive mistake that one!

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
